What's the story with the antlers to the right of the shoulder mount?
Appears much darker than the rest.

First thing, congrats OP on many successful hunts!

Now, all my tags come off on 31 March here in Sk, why would I leave a tag that is then pointless on my animal if the law doesn't require it??? The fact that you leave your tags on past the deadline doesn't make it the rule buddy.

Also, you clearly didn't know the rules of the province where the animal was harvested and clearly don't know the rules where you seem to hunt, yet you found it important to comment on said rules. You must be one of those guys who CANNOT resist posting a dumb "NO TAGS!!!" on field pictures posted to 306 Hunters! It would have been a good occasion to simply say congrats or not comment...
 
Hor...I mean antler color is usually a product of what kind of bark they rub the velvet off on. Spruce or pine with high pitch content produces mostly a dark color (the tips can be polished to the ivory color on anything once the blood/pitch cures out), Poplar & birch usually produce a more ivory color. Buckbrush & willows that a lot of bucks in southern or eastern Ab. tend to be on the darker side.
