This questions to the guys out west.

Mulies ? I am filming right now to put togeather some canadian content of hunting and am looking for some help on where I should target to put some Mulies hunts on camera.

Could anyone give me some advice on this ?

Try to contact an outfitter in southern AB or BC and see if they will let you tag along on a hunt... and good luck with that. I kinda doubt you have any takers but who knows?
 
As a hunter, I am very leary about filming hunts to show to the general public. Virtually every hunting show is jumped on by the anti's as good ammunition to prove that hunters are just cruel killers, wiping out the game animals.
I wish you would just come to south-central BC in the spring of the year and film mule deer before they leave their wintering grounds.

So, we are supposed to promote the sport how? Should we make another Bambi movie, that'll help. Don't worry about the anti's, if the people watching have half a brain in their heads, and the show is well put together and thought out, people can see that we aren't monsters.

Well you see that hasnt got the highest potential for $ exploitation. Our boy here does whatever, whenever including dooping a board into paying his legal fees when the law takes his guns. So its wherever the biggest bucks are for this pup unfortunately, and if it hurts the sport in the fall out, well thats the small cost of makin a buck. Am I far off Adrian?

I've been involved with a hunting show for the last 8 years and I have to say everyone gives the anti's far more credit than they deserve. Anti's are media seekers and they target the big stages like the seal hunt, not individual TV show productions. In the 8 years the total amount of complaints by antis, 0. Hunters complaining about second shots or situations they thought were questionable. 27. Each time the "don't give the antis ammo" line was quoted.
Your mileage may vary.
 
Thanks Guys, I'm sorry if I touched any nerves, I never intended to. I was interested in these deer and thought they would make a great show, I was not looking for record book and don't need that on any film that leaves my studio.

I'm close to firming up a hunt in MB and that will be the second leg this fall season. Hope everyone has a great Fall...
 
anyone wiht a satellite dish or cable TV can get hunting programs 24/7 sent to thier living room. Most of them are pretty crappy, but I doubt one more will make the anti hunters notice.:p

No nerves touched here... All these deer were taken in Peace River
