Muller Chokes... anyone using them?

They work very well with cheaper ammo. They will tighten up the pattern. On premium ammo such as Winc AA Extra-light, there is not a noticeable difference between them and my Optima chokes. They are very light, stay clean and won't shoot loose! They will ship to your door from the US!

Thanks for your response Henry. Where I shoot, we're limited to steel shot. We mostly shoot Kent Velocity 7/8 ounce of 7.

Do you think they'll do a good job with these loads? Ever tried yours with that?

Thanks

Luc

Is that the new club North of St Anne de la Perade? You guys got screwed with the M of E!They are imbicilles! Lead is not a poluttant on the ground. The NRA has prooved it and the NFA should have all the documentation. I have somewhere in my old computer various studies done by ISU and ISSF regarding lead and shooting grounds.

Did yo know that most bio targets kill invertabrates and all grass! That copper plate shot will kill all aquatics!

BTW, Muller is presently testing loads and patterns for steel loads. Also, steel pellets cost 40% less than lead! The wad is slightly more expensive. The shotshell makers are making a fortune selling steel shot!

I have some Muller chokes. They pattern very well and are so easy to clean, hardly any residues. It takes a while to get used to them because they are so light and change the dynamic of the gun. I am not sure that they can send them across the border. I would also check with them if they are steelproof. They claim that the chokes are made of a material that is harder than steel. Henry do you speak from personal experience or from what you heard?

I test the load/choke combinations at 40 yards. I have been testing rifle and pistol loads for over 30 years and shotgun patterns and choked for over 20. Last month in Italy, I spent a day with an Italian shotshell manufacturer. During that time, they let me see everything of their manufacturing process and quality control procedures. I also had the opertunnity to test 3 different loadings at a measured 35 M using my DT10L and Muller 2 and 3 chokes. We then took 10 rounds of each to the lab for testing. They were test fired in the lab. We had pressure readings, velocity at 2.5M and 10M. We had temperature and humidity readings, type of powder with weight, lot number, primer type, case type, hull height etc....

I spent a few days with Jim Muller at the ClayshootingUSA Triple Classic in Texas, this past May. We discussed many a technical aspect of chokes and loads. I like the way the liven up my DT10L.

I had discussions with another Euro shell manufacturer that intrigued me. There are tremendous variations in thickness of most clay targets from the same box of clay targets! A well known clay target machine maker also confirmed this. It is the biggest cause of "No Bird"!

Henry;)
