So lately I have been humming and hawing about getting a set of Muller chokes for my Citori 725 sporting. I started doing some research on the internet and these chokes seem to cause quite a stir when they are mentioned. Some people swear by them and others swear at them. It almost seems like owners of other brands of chokes are personally insulted when someone says they like Muller chokes. These seem to be the Glock of the shotgun choke world.

One reason I am thinking of them is the ease of cleaning. The Invector DS extended chokes that came with the gun attract plastic like crazy. After 200 - 300 shells I have to put a brass brush in a drill to clean IM choke. the F choke isn't as bad but it attracts it as well. I'm not sure why this is, the Invector Plus choke in my Silver hunter doesn't do this. From what I have read on the internet everyone seems to agree that the Mullers are extremely easy cleaning and do not plastic foul very badly.

Other than that the only other reason is that I just want to try them. I want to see what all the fuss is about. They will be used for trap. I can get a U2 and a U3 from Silver Willow for $110 each. And to be honest I have spent $220 on stupider things. :d

As I trust the advice on this forum more so as I am regularly on here and not so much on other sites, I would love to hear from some fellow Gunnutz that have had some experience with these chokes. What do you think of them? Good? Bad? Otherwise?

I have the 1,2 and 3. They are easy to clean as mentioned. They pattern well for me with light trap loads and #6 lead shot' but that doesn't mean they will work as well in your shotgun. Can't hurt to give them a try. I use mine in a wingmaster and pretty much the U3 stays in most of the time as I use it fairly exclusively for upland and it works great. If (or when) I someday get a Citori, I will have a U2 in the bottom and U3 in the top. Hope this helps.

I have a 0, 1, 2, & 3 that I use primarily for sporting clays. I find them super-easy to clean, and they go easily into the gun with fingers and stay tight when tightened only with fingers (no wrench)...I am somewhat amazed that they never shoot loose. The 1 & 2 pretty much live in the gun all the time, I rarely use my 3. Sometimes I'll change out to a 0 and a 1 for skeet.

Would not hesitate to buy them again.

Cheers,

Brobee

I have had mine for at least 3 years. They shoot really well. Well rounded pattern rather than a core dense pattern. They also have an excellent customer service.

Try them out and find out for yourself. Start with a 2 and 3 and see if you like them. 2 and 3 are perfect for trap and sporting clay. Pick up a pair of 0's and you are set for skeet.

I run a u1 and a u2 in a 725 sporting 99 % of the time . I change out to the factory skeet chokes for skeet . The biggest difference I see is they do not collect wad resdue like the oem ds chokes .

Well I did it this morning. I ordered a set of these. Thanks to everyone for their input. I'll let you all know how they work out for me.
