multi stage press issues

hey guys, my buddy has a lee multi stage press and were having some issues with it. at times the bullet gets put into the casing but its loose and pops out, and also its having a primer issue, some primers seat properly, while lots of them dont. any suggestions on where to start diagnosing this issue? were gonna turn it into primarily a 9mm loader so that we can pump out large amounts of them quickly.

This is the kind of problem that makes me (and others) think that it really is better to start with a single stage, and once you master that, maybe go progressive, you'll always use the single stage.

Small primer system is a pain. If I were still using my loadmaster, I would just use a RCBS hand primer first and skip that step on the press.

hes got a single stage that he uses, hes just been having an issue with this multi. gonna look through that site that was posted and were gonna give her a go next week at some time. worst case if we still cant get it sorted out we'll do as mentioned above and use the single stage press to load the primers and then let the multi stage do the rest. thanks for the help guys

but its loose and pops out: some lee(and other) carbide sizing dies don't size brass sufficiently, or case walls are too thin(depending on brand). Projectiles could be too small, check with calipers(.356-.357?).

I do all my priming on my single stage.
Modded up my Pro 1000 to skip the priming.
Works flawless now.

My Lee seating die would pull the projectile out of the case with some 9mm bullet profiles. The Campro 9mm 147's seemed to be worst for this. The problem is the seating plug grabs the tips of certain profiles. Either alter the seater plug or get a new seating die. I got a Redding Precision seater and the problem was solved.
