On the fence about something.

I have another upper on order, and it is a 10.5" set up. My current stick is a nice 14.5" free float set up, an I dig this length of rifle.

I am sort of leaning to changing my upper order from the 10.5" to another 14.5", but just railing it differently, and using a different red dot.

I've never felt held back with this rifle, even in CQB stuff, and kind of think I am pigeon holing myself with the SBR.

I like the idea of two sort of the same, but different, but for training and competing purposes, they will feel similar when I pick them up.

Any input to this OCD?

Thanks.

It's not OCD at all.

I started with an LMT Defender 2000 16" and recently did a lighter weight 16" Spike's/Vltor frankenbuild for a competition gun. Not that the LMT was bad for competition, but being a monolithic rail platform, it's on the heavy side, and I knew I could save weight if I did a custom build with a lightweight rail.

If I need something that has tons of rail space to hang various lights and lasers and crap off it and will still work after being run over by a truck, I'll take the LMT. Not that my competition gun isn't sturdy but it's just not as overbuilt as the LMT is, and it only has a 3" rail on the left side for a sling, and 6" underneath for my AFG2 (and no rail at all on the right side).

I am using different optics on each as well... EoTech with a 3x magnifier on the LMT, and a Vortex Razor HD II 1-6x on the Spike's. I found the 3x magnifier just wasn't quite cutting it on auto-poppers at 200 yards, and eventually I want to compete in the States where longer range shots are more frequent (and longer).

Different rifles for different purposes.
