With the advent of three levels of factory loads available in the .300 Remington Ultra Mag, how many handloaders accomplish similar results?
As an example, with a .300 Winchester Magnum, loading a 200 grain bullet with IMR 7828, a 180 with H4350, and the 150 with 4064 to accomplish full, mid and low load levels. Are the claims of the factory loads having the same 200 yard zero accurate with the .300 RUM?

I can load my .22-250 to .223, .22 hornet, or even .22 WMR power levels, using IMR 3031 for the first load, and 2400 for the other two. I even load my 7.62x39 cartridges to 7.62x25 levels using 90 Gr. XHP's and Unique. Do they shoot the same point of aim? No.

I dunno about the .300 RUM, but I'd imagine it would be the same story. As a side note, you might get gas-staining on the outside of the case with the lighter loads. It's best to use a faster powder with the lighter loads to mitigate the secondary explosive effect problem (SEE).

Getting different load shoot to the same point of aim is a pipe dream.

You might get minute of pie plate at one distance. Every gun reacts differently to each load and 2 very similar loads can hit inches apart in the same rifle.

As a handloader you tailor your loads a great deal but assume that the sights will need to be adjusted. Same with different factory loads.
