Musgrave Target rifle in .308

Just read an article about the rifles used at Connaught in a Rifle magazine. Musgraves were mentionned, along with a number of others. One of the authors was a chap named William Wylde.

I finally found it- June 1996. Vol. 42, no. 2.

I enjoy my Musgrave TR's .223/.308 , there's been quite a few used here on the rock ranges, Excellent SOLID , flat bottomed actions ,which becomes "one" with the stock when properly bedded . The meaty per square inch reciever to bedding is one of the most impressive i've seen on any rifle , practically impervious to water (chamber,& bbl. excluded)--once , during a"soaker" shoot. Came off the line after a heavy downpour, literally poured the water out of the stock . Surprised that the piece had still held it's zero. ( at least score wise ).
I'm sure i still have that above mentioned article somewhere in the archives, if i find it before someone else comes up with it , i'll try & post it .:)

The Rifles of Connaught

That article in Rifle is getting a little age on it!

I shot a '79 Sportco Palma practice rifle and #### Hummel shot one of the early Musgraves that were imported to the U.S. While there we shot lots of wonderful rifles. Met a lot of wonderful people too.

I had almost forgotten that article, but will never forget the experience.
