I bought a Mauser 98 sporter stock from Musgrave Wapenfabriek in Ermelo, South Africa.

Here's the stock mounted on a Husqvarna 640 in 8x57 Mauser. I had the stock professionally fitted and glass bedded

If I do say so myself it looks baie pragtig

That's absolutely awful, Squinty. You might as well give this rifle to me so you don't have to suffer by looking at it ;) Let me relieve you of your suffering.

Looks great! How does it shoot?

Next time I see you, you can try it out for yourself.
I shot it today with iron sights and I was able to consistently hit the 200 yard gong.

The amazing thing is that a 196 grain bullet at 2620 fps was so soft shooting. This stock is amazing.

It's been years since I've been so excited about a rifle.

South Africa does not have a post office anymore. I had to have it shipped by airfreight and Swiss Airlines extorted $300 from me as a storage fee. My stock was in their warehouse for one day and they charged me $300.

Then I had to have it shopped from the airport in Vancouver. The whole thing was ruinously expensive.

You are better off just paying a skilled craftsman over here to just make you a stock.

Here's my latest Musgrave. It is in 7x57.
