Hey guys,I was wondering if there are any muskrat trappers or hunters out there?I thought I would post some pics of my dog Tundra retreving some rats.I shot about 50 this year,mostly for fun,but did skin them too.Furs should do real good this year.

Really nice Muskrat fetcher.
I trapped muskrats they were fun to trap! I used them traps that are made of small chicken wire made into a big tube and they duck under a brach set in there trails they swim into the trap and cant get out cause theres like a funnel at each end. They drown! inside the trap. I have found 3 or 4 at a time in one trap.
I used legholds with a drowning slide but they were a pain to set up and re set for one rat.
Your way looks more fun tho

Just shot a few muskrats myself, they are certainly fun to hunt. They are easy to spot due to the water disturbance, and I actually like using a .410 for them, though my last ones were taken with good old .22LR.

I used to use a lab also, and also a sheperd cross ( best dnaged retreiver I ever had!)
My brother also had a tremendous black lab that would do beavers and rats, ducks, anything.
