Must remember to make an offering to the Enfield gods...

my SSA was issued to the Aussies and rebuilt by them in 1946 and sat in cos till I got it I'll have to dig it out I don't think it was re-barreled in the rebuild IIRC it's almost mint and would be if it didn't fall off a chair at the gunshow after I bought it

Oh: proves I haven't done my reading. Well, I've picked up 2 NRFs and only 1 SSA. Still think the standard of finish on the SSA beats the NRF, though! ;-) After all, there are SO many of them around to compare with. (Just glad I managed to get the whole set: took me 30 years.)

One of the NRFs has a recycled Ross 1910 butt, paint finish, the cast aluminum part of a composite aluminum/wood fore-end...... and a 1943 rebuild date at Enfield with a 1943 barrel date. Any ideas?

Here are some shots of the action markings on my NRF No 1 Mk III*

I would very much like to see the photos of the Lee Enfields with aluminum fore stocks as well!
