When I put a new brake on a CZ858 I found that if the top vents were at 12:00 o'clock, the gun would jump to the right quite bit when shot off hand. I found that rotating the brake to 1:30 (viewed from the back) solved the jump, making a double tap possible.

Today I put a new brake on my AR15. With the top vents at 12:00, it jumps to the right a bit. I have moved it to 1:00, but have not yet tested it.

Do you just install brakes vertically, or have you found that an angle is better?
 
I installed my rolling thunder vertically, but I have heard about guys tuning theirs. They still install them vertically, but drill some holes at 9 or 3 o clock to balance any lateral movement.
 
What you describe is natural for right handed shooters, Ganderite. I also time my brakes and compensators to approximately 1:30 - 2:00.
 
You should have another hold drill or mill from about 2oclock, this will help balance out the jump to the right, and have another smaller hole drill at 10oclock, this is very important in balance out.
 
even if you turn it right, some time still does jump, but if you put hole on 10 and 2 oclock, it will stylized, I put these on my Ar15, and at 50meter away I could put 5 round on target, make it quite easy.

Doesn't matter what others think is "correct." The only thing that matters is what works for you. If it works for you, don't ask others if it is correct because their opinion is meaningless.
 
This is good, I've thought about trying this with my XCR. It stays flat with a good hold but recoil pushes me off target a little toward 3 o'clock.
 
I was just talking about this two nights ago with a CGN member. I put a Griffin break on my AR and same thing, pushes slightly to the right. He told me to rotate it a bit and try it out. I forgot and just got back from the range too.
