The main three I've been looking at are the Noveske KX-3, Dlask XB-1, and the Alberta Tactical Rifle Eliminator.

What I'm looking for is something that has decent muzzle control, directs the blast downrange and most importantly won't deafen me or someone else on the range beside me. This is my first AR, and it has a 7.5" barrel, and it currently has an A2 flash suppressor on it, but I've heard that will deafen everybody within a 3KM radius. Give or take.

For the Noveske, I like everything I've heard, and it's not terribly expensive ($125.00 on their website or $1500.00 used), and it has a Pig Belching flame, which is a positive.

The XB-1 is a good copy, but it is a copy and that's where my hesitation is.

The ATR Eliminator seems to do the most, but it also costs the most.

What are your thoughts for a new AR owner?

Very much doubt you'll ever find a 7.5" .223 that doesn't deafen you and everybody you know regardless of how far away they are. What's the OAL of that toy? Just curious.

ATRS Eliminator. I have one on my 8.5" shorty. I spent a lot of time analysing the different choices for the shorty barreled AR's and my conclusion was the Eliminator.

How is the noise mitigation on the Eliminator? And do you notice a difference with either the recoil or muzzle climb?

I run the J-Tactical Jugger break on mine and I love it. Iv got a line on a guy who had a few for sale if interested, both right hand left hand cqb, sniper , and m14

How short your barrel though? The Jugger Brake (while it looks supper badsass) doesn't look like it would mititgate the noise much, which is a main thing I was looking for.

I am also running J-Tactical Juggerbake CQB/RH on my 10.5". Its very loud on R/H since it directs gas/noise toward right/hand side.Better muzzle control compared with my stock one and it looks GOOODDD!! :)

For the Jugger Brake, the sound dampening is a big one for me, as the range I shoot is normally covered in snow/mud/rain so we typically shoot out of shacks to open targets, simply to get out of the weather, and although it does look badsass, and not to mention it is half the price of the Eliminator, I do like the look of the Eliminator if only for the fact that the non-tapered version looks like a mock suppressor (kind of).

I am leaning towards the Eliminator now, if only for the sake that it's come recommended just about everywhere I've looked for noise dampening muzzle brakes.

Has anyone run a SPEX muzzle brake or an AGW Linear muzzle brake on their shorty AR, or know where one could be found? Everything seems to be sold out.

I have an Allen Gunworks linear on my 6.5 inch and it is surprisingly comfortable to shoot. Can't be beat for $60 :)
I also have an S&J linear for my 300BLACKOUT and while I haven't shot it yet the machining is nice and I have no doubt it will direct the blast downrange.

You don't need an expensive brand name linear comp to make a short barrel comfortable to shoot.

What about the B.E. Meyers flash hider?

I use the PWS CQB on my Spike's 7.5 inch. I'm very happy with it

i use a flaming pig on my MK18

I'm using a AGW Linear Comp. On a DDMK18 (not a pdw) and it was very effective in making the shooters around me happier to be around me. It significantly reduced the bomb like impulse with hot loads.

Eliminator first...followed by the KX3 or Spikes Warthog (not made anymore...but very nice/adjustable).

ATRS Lightweight Flash Eliminator (LFE) hands down. I have them on all my SBR's both 5.56mm and 300 Blk. Zero flash and effective compensation. As a bonus, Canadian made.
