A member of our gun club tried to order a muzzle brake for his `35 Mosin Nagant from ViperSpeed in the U.S. but they didn't want to ship to Canada.
His Mosin was already updated with a Timney trigger and an Archangel stock, a knock-off Leupold Mk.4 and he wanted to add their "Magnum" brake model.
So armed with a picture I proceeded to machine him one along the same lines, not an exact copy but something using the same concept.
We tried it out today and results were amazing, as felt recoil is cut down buy a huge margin. It almost felt like shooting a .222 rem from a heavy rifle.
Too bad they won't ship here because their concept works superbly. There are no holes on the underside as to minimize dust signature.
Muzzle rise and ground disturbance are minimal. Very effective!!!

Here's a pic of the results.

Hi Lou!!! Haven't heard from you in a while. Still working on Enfields?

Yes I did, and it works like a charm. I took my time fitting it, so no crush washer was needed, it just screwed into place with the holes on top.

Yup, always playing around with Lee Enfields! No reason to stop...

I guess this would be a good time to look at a poor bubba'ed beater Mosin I have lying around here, short barrel, lightweight, it could use a brake for sure... :)
