Hi everyone, i have a 300 wsm on which i want to put a muzzle brake, i go through around 500 rounds a year in this rifle and i am getting tired of the recoil.

I don't care about the look or the noise but i do care a lot about accuracy, it is my most accurate rifle.

I was looking at the surefire procomp, not the best but for the price and the review i think it is the most bang for the buck.

So i have 3 questions :

-Will machining threads to my barrel and adding weight to the tip will affect a lot the accuracy ?

-Does someone know where i can buy the Surefire procomp in Canada ?

-If not can someone suggest me a good muzzle brake for a .30 Mag under 100$.

Thanks to everyone who share their knowledge !

I have to say the df 2000 worked very well on a 300 win mag I had. Reduced recoil significantly but didn't really find his claim about the sound levels true. It was still very loud.

Are you sure about installing a muzzle brake? I recently picked up a previously owned 338 Win. Mag. equipped with one, and with full-on loads it is LOUD!!! :sok2

Not a heavy kicker in my estimation without the brake. With 250gr bullets I've resorted to loading it down to 338 Federal speeds using around 57grs of IMR4064 vs. ~75grs of slow burn rate powder in order to keep the muzzle blast at a tolerable level.

$100??? Coretacc removable. Like $350 ish I think. Accuracy won't change, poi will, and most accurate load may have to be worked up again.

The DF 2000 look very nice on your rifle but it is ported all around, i am sometime shooting prone in area with a lot of sand so it may not be a good fit for me. Thank for the info, i will keep them in mind it's nice to see local product.

The rifle have eat around 500 rounds, i bought it for a caribou hunt maybe 10 years ago and the trip was cancel, so it went in the safe with only 5 rounds down the barrel. Last year i decided to use it a little before selling...the grouping was so great i start reloading for her, she is a real tack driver no way i am selling this. I know it will not last in this caliber, i will change the barrel in time but i am good for a few years.

Lots of people said good things about the badger FTE and i got a great offer for one today so this is the one. It is over my 100$ budgeted but i heard it worth it.

Thank you all for the answer and have a great holiday/new year !
