jealousy? brakes dont make you some part of an elite club. Any recoil shy mega magnum macho man with $200 can have one :rolleyes:

Ill take my brake off my .50 and let you take a few shots just so you can show us how tuff you are...and $200 might cover half the brake:kickInTheNuts:

I always take a 50cal hunting:rolleyes:

If you really believe you need a brake on a hunting rifle, then you should look at a smaller caliber. If your 300 win mag bothers you than you should be shooting a 30-06 or 270.

Shooting a 50cal is a whole other ball of wax, brakes have their place for special applications, not really in hunting rifles....

The only brake I seen that makes sense is the one on the factory savage. You can turn it on at the range when you are by yourself, and turn it off while hunting with your buddies.
 
Muzzle breaks can be a very efficient way to reduce recoil and muzzle jump. In a hunting situation from behind the rifle the noise can be harmful... JUST LIKE ANY OTHER FIREARM with or without a Muzzle break. If someone is beside you the noise from a rifle with or without a break is going to be much worse.:onCrack:
At the range Muzzle breaks can be a shock to people beside you on the line and the faint of heart may get all pissy if you do not give them some warning.
I have only two words for the people who hate muzzle breaks.... HEARING PROTECTION!:rockOn:
