Looking for opinions on a muzzle brake for my shorty M14 clone that I'm building. It will have an upgraded barrel installed and will be used to hunt. Weight is a consideration as I plan to scope it with an ARMS 18 mount and suitable optic/rings. Thanks.

I'm doing a build so I would think the muzzle will be threaded to accept whatever I chose. But if it helps, the barrel is an .308 18.5" Krieger 1-11 twist.
Well there are muzzle brakes and then there are muzzle brakes. I'm asking for recommendations from people who have them on their shorty Norcs or M1As.
The SEI Navy brake has received very good reviews from those who have them. They can be ordered from some of the sponsors here. Be ready to pay over $200 for it though. One locally made by Leo Cormier has also received high marks from others. There had also been some clamor for the reasonably priced Crusader brake for the AR15 to be made for the M305 but the Ontario based manufacturer Neit Arms, also a sponsor, has not made any commitment that I am aware of.
