any of you guy's ever use the Badger FTE Removable Muzzle break?

or anyone know if one can buy a AI brake,I want a clamp on style,so I can take it off if need be,

I was shooting today and I was having a hard time spotting my hits under 500meters cause the little LTR like's to jump abit launching the 175SMK at 2630FPS:D

so a Brake looks to be in order:dancingbanana:

I have a Holland brake on my rifle, it is threaded, and to make it removable, we inserted a set screw to lock it into place. This prevents it from torqueing too tight to be remved by hand.

The rifle is a 6.5-270WSM, the recoil with this is similar to my .223, and I see all my impacts, even at 100 yards.

I can send you pictures of the set up if you like.

I had a VIAS Brake installed on my rifle. Still don't have it, I only got pic :( I should get a thread protector made while its still at the smiths.

I wanted a OPS INC Brake but Jeff could not get them. So I settled for the VIAS. Plus with my barrel contour it was hard to find a brake that will take the profile of the barrel.

Yes, I mis-matched the OD, my first rifle so I still have a lot to learn. But it shoots well, so I am happy. And the brake does what it is supposed to do.

Got it from Hollands, as it is less than $100, or was. On Brownells they are still < 100 so either way it should not be a problem.

They need to be reamed to 20 thou over the cal you are using, but again this is a minor problem.

Yeah I think thats the brake I'll get for my other custom rig. Surprise another Mauser LOL Pretty much the same as the one in the picture, But thinner barrel, I do believe 26" and not 24", More lower profile stock and 10rd detachable mag.

Dunno why I put a Brake on a already heavy Mauser I dunno. Just because I can I guess. I think my Mauser weighed in at around 16 LBS.

tank.......lol

I am trying to keep the LTR lite............but that Nightforce ain't......lol

and if I get the AICS 2.0 its going to be the "HSTR" HeavyShortTacticalRifle
