Muzzle brake

Jennings brake

I had to put a brake on my 8mmRem Mag,due to some surgery I had,but I use it only when working up loads at the range, not when hunting. If you get a brake, get a threaded cap,so you can hunt without the brake in place! You only get issued one pair of ears!I use Dave Jennings brake, and it's not real noisy, but why take chances.I'm already half deaf from 30 years of trap shooting!Regards,Mur.

Shooting with a brake on and then removing it usually requires a different load for best accuracy as well as sighting it in for shooting with no brake.

Working a load up with the brake on is no guarantee the same load will work with the brake off...

If you plan on hunting without a brake, why bother to install one to start with... use a "sissy bag" on the bench to take the recoil.

Now there is a good piece of advice.....

My point of impact with 200 and 220gr.A Frames is the same. What Gun Tech suggests is quite possible, which is why I checked my POI with the Brake off.:)
