I'm assuming from your post that you are using the term Muzzle Brake to describe all available muzzle devices for the AR? If so, It depends on what you want to do with it. If don't really know why you want one, stick with an A2, it's the best general purpose muzzle device I've tried for this barrel length.
If you want recoil reduction, muzzle flip reduction, or blast mitigation then I'd recommend something else. Think over what you want it to do.

P.S. Try shooting from the supine position with a vortex (or any other open sided device) out of a 10.5. If you're tall like me you get a nice bit of muzzle blast right to your junk.

Cone style muzzle devices do have their uses, specifically for helping under gassed rifles in the case of the KX3(and others) and for those that are muzzle blast sensitive.
I'm gonna come clean though. I tried a Dlask re-worked Levang on my 10.25" a few weeks ago. I'm probably gonna catch s**t because those units were made for 10/22 rimfire cognoscenti. It will make it back onto my new DAR 22 threaded receiver rifle, but I just couldn't resist the chance to test it out while I am waiting for the revisions on the Clobb Comp.
Anyway, the LeVang was surprising. It's not really a cone style muzzle device, but it directs all muzzle blast forward. It did make the rifle more comfortable to shoot in terms of blast, but I was not able to shoot nearly as fast with it as I was with the A2 or Clobb Comp. I did a bunch of drills with it, including shooting supine and it was fine, but I still got some scorching on my jeans.

Many people want to shoot fast and accurately. A muzzle brake or comp can help them do that, even with a round designed for women and metrosexuals. Talk to any three gun competitor they'll set you straight.

ROFLMAO. 
Probably the most popular in my opinion is the PWS FSC556.
It's a design that has best of both flash suppression and muzzle break.
I have one of these on my 16".
Awsome brake, but LOUD. On a 10.5, it will be really loud!!

Best bang for your buck is the DPMS/Miculek for an all out break - what asked for in the op. The SF is a fantastic break - the one I use right now actually - but I didnt buy it's expensive. Havent tried the SJC but expensive as well. The PWS is a pretty good break actually with some tacticool factor - if that's your bag. Met a dude who works for PWS in Idaho and called all Canadians rip off artists for not following copyright rules. Not sure wbat the deal is but imitation is flattery and so on. He was actually a #### so whatever.
Still want a range report of a triple tap from someone who has tried more than a birdcage. I heard it isn't crap compared to the SF but won't hit you in the face with any muzzle blast. Not sure why you wouldn't want that - fun part of the AR for me. :')

Next time you see the skumbag tell him
that the copywright infringement and patent infringement
are 2 separate issues.
None of the above applies in this case, and (or as)
the US patent laws do not apply in Canada.
The copying was done in Canada due to the huge market request
for as long as the PWS was not exported to Canada,
(copying stoped when the original PWS appeared here).
Is he pissed that the copy had some engineering touches
that made it work slightly better than the original PWS brake?

That being said, the PWS company played it cool
and AFAIK didn't raise any stink about it.
That particular guy must be working in the back of the shop or sumpin.
