The KX3...is that available in Canada? I never see them anywhere.
What do you need a brake on a 5.56mm firearm for? You should just slip a maxipad under your bra strap to dampen the hellish recoil. Now if you have a 0.338 Lapua, that's a different story.
How come Vortex flash suppressor wasn't in the Test?
Cone style muzzle devices do have their uses, specifically for helping under gassed rifles in the case of the KX3(and others) and for those that are muzzle blast sensitive.
I'm gonna come clean though. I tried a Dlask re-worked Levang on my 10.25" a few weeks ago. I'm probably gonna catch s**t because those units were made for 10/22 rimfire cognoscenti. It will make it back onto my new DAR 22 threaded receiver rifle, but I just couldn't resist the chance to test it out while I am waiting for the revisions on the Clobb Comp.
Anyway, the LeVang was surprising. It's not really a cone style muzzle device, but it directs all muzzle blast forward. It did make the rifle more comfortable to shoot in terms of blast, but I was not able to shoot nearly as fast with it as I was with the A2 or Clobb Comp. I did a bunch of drills with it, including shooting supine and it was fine, but I still got some scorching on my jeans.Muzzle flash with the LeVang was very pronounced.
Here's a couple pics:

Mostly because we will not illegally export parts from the USA and the Smith Enterprises "Vortex flash hider" is not a legally exported item being as it is a "flash hider" precluding 1 from getting an export permit to export them, hence we do not have 1
Cone style muzzle devices do have their uses
What no SEI flash hidder???We manufacture a "flash hider" called the Eliminator that kinda speaks for itself.

There's a KX3 in the video, though, isn't there? Are they legally exportable from the US or not?
The eliminator sure is dark, at any rate.
You are correct, they are not legally exportable, it was lent to me by a customer. How or where he got it from I have no idea.
I have two (about 5k rounds total).
Excellent recoil reduction with low concussion.
There are better pure muzzle brakes out there for (a lot) less money, but none of them are nearly as comfortable to shoot around. About 2/3 as much concussion as a PWS FSC556 from the same barrel length and ammo.
Canadians also cannot make use of the other great feature of the Triple Tap; QDSS-NT4 compatibility.
