Muzzle brakes

Are they worth it??? is there really a noticable difference in recoil ??? Since I will be using my SKS for hunting in thick bush on running deer I will be making some fast shots, will this muzzlebrake really make a difference on those second and maybe third shots ??? I see online at combathunting they have 3 different kinds at more than half price on special , just wondering if its worth it.

From what I've read, best way to attach muzzle brakes is threading them on. Other methods are usually not reliable for staying affixed to most rifles when shooting.

ok thanks...I read those past posts and since I won't be wearing hearing protection in the woods while hunting, and one of those post's mentioned the sound of a shot being amplified four times, I think I will not get the muzzle brake and save my hearing.

is it normal for hunters not to wear hearing protection?

im partly deaf for not wear it when i was younger.

IMHO Them electric peltors are awesome for hunting...sound amplification on dual mics, and instant hearing protection when the rifle goes off.

I been hunting for 20yrs and have never met any hunters who wear any ear protection. When either hunting in a stand or walking through the bush, you rely a lot on your ears to hear a deer. As for those aplified earmuffs, I have never tried them, but have heard from a buddy that every single squirell running around eventually drives you nuts with the sound amplified. Like I said I never tried them myself so I am no judge, I can see myself trying them while sitting quietly in my stand, but not when I am walking through the bush. Have you tried them yourself calum in a hunting situation ??
