Muzzle break

Maybe some more info would help.

What model is your rifle. How much does it weigh? How long is the barrel? What conditions are you firing it in (range, hunting, benchrest)

I'm sure someone could recommend you a good break.

what ever type you get make sure it is easily removable. cleaning a rifle with the brake still on the end of the barrel is a pain in the ass, no matter what some smiths will tell you. patches getting stuck, solvent and everything else dripping out of all the holes.....

Looking for info on muzzle break for a 300 wsm....

It's brake as in put the brakes on... not break as in it is broken...

I've done hundreds of them over about 40 years ...

Here is a picture of a very light barreled 300 WSM with a brake I installed. It's a pussy cat to shoot and very accurate. I only need the barreled action... Most calibers are $300 and includes return mail. The brake is stainless and can be finished shiny or matte. A cap can be made ($50) but I don't recommend that. The rifle may require a different load and shoot in a different point of impact with or without the brake. The noise is no big deal with the few shots taken while hunting. Rifles are hard on your ears with or without brakes.

I put a Badger Ordnance Comp on my precision rifle and it was worth the time and money spent. I can now watch my rounds impact after squeezing the trigger. I am impressed!

hey guntech how much for a 338 winmag and can you supply a cap to put on when hunting without the muzzle break .i think they would be great for target practice but my father inlaws is very loud on his 300 winmag.i dont think i would be able to hear much out in the woods with ear muffs on.

Hi I just put a vias micro brake on my 300wsm its a smaller brake . does not look goddy. i am very pleased with results. yes it mkes for louder gun but if recoil is problem it will fix that. would compare to shooting a .243. suggest vias micro brakes.

I'm using a jp tactical break on my rem 700 xcr tlr. It is there "tactical" version and it works wonders. There is so little recoil now!!

Then you haven't tried those electronic muffs yet, have you? They let you hear better than you can without them and they protect your hearing.

I did that last year... they are great. You can hear things you have never heard before.

Dennis....really appreciate if you could suggest a brand as I have a problem with my 63 yr. old ears....one is deaf and I can't hear with the other !
Dear Wife says I have "selective hearing", but I don't believe her at all !
