I need some ideas for a muzzle cover when I am hunting in wet and snowy conditions and in the bush to stop crap from getting in my barrel.
I have seen electrial tape in pictures and I am wondering if it works in cold weather and is the tape removed before firing.
I would like to know what do you use?

Electrical tape will work well. You don't have to remove it prior to shooting and it increases muzzle velocity. Seriously. It's fine in cold weather as long as you apply it in warm conditions.

Look for the smaller size, thats what I use...

When you buy them at the pharmacy, what kind of looks do you get?:D
Do you just explain...no they're not for me, I use them to keep my gun clean:p

They make little condom like devices that are meant to fit on your fingers. You can buy them at medical supply stores. I have also seen them packaged for gun use, way more expensive when packaged that way.

I've used electrical tape and I've cut the fingers off surgical gloves to put over the muzzle. Neither affected where my shots hit on target. I didn't know you could buy condoms that small.

have you actually tried it through a chrony???

I cut the fingers off surgical/disposable gloves (always have a box in the shop for staining/finishing work anyhow). Works as well as anything else I've tried.

If ya go to the drugstore ask the druggist for "Finger Cots". That is what is on the box that I have here!!!!!!!!

Bearcat
you can find them in the first aid section of almost any pharmacy i buy a box or two every summer

If you're "in camp", hunting make sure you take off the "muzzle mitt/ finger cot" every evening in wet/cold weather as you'll get rust underneath from condensation. I also add an elastic band to the base of the finger cot/ muzzle mitt.

The "Cots" work well, I've even seen them in Black:rolleyes:

Of course cutting the fingers off sugical gloves works just as well......cheap Kids balloons from the $ stores work just as well......they also come in all kinda fancy colours too :D
Tape works too but why have all that goo on your barrel when a ballon or "condom" is just as effective.........That kinda sounds awful doesn't it:redface:
