Wonder what people are doing about a muzzle device for their 102's. I havent shot it yet but the one that comes with it looks clunky.....does it work well? I was thinking about maybe just a A2 style flash hider for a cleaner look but maybe there is a better option.

I use this muzzle device as a default (Maple Ridge Armoury Rock Solid Brake):

And this is what an "A2" looks like (one I picked up from the EE):

For measurements (top is stock, middle is Maple Ridge, bottom is A2):

I went with an AAC Blackout 51T, as I didn't feel the rifle needed a brake. Also, I had a Blastout kicking around, so I can use that if I feel the need.

Thanks for the pics. Definitely liking the A2 on there. I never thought about just a threaded protector, that's a good idea. Difference in weight between a new barrel could almost be made up by eliminating the factory brake....also save afew inches in overall length.

I took the stock brake off and put a battlecomp on there. Not as loud as stock and muzzle climb is still pretty minor. I have an A2 flash hider for it too but I’ll stick with the battlecomp for now

I'm more interested in weight savings at the end of the barrel and shorter overall length than strictly muzzle control. Hunting applications don't really require much "braking".

What about an SJ micro linear comp then. Probably much better for hunting in a group. No one likes getting muzzle blasted.

I decided to get the 2a armament titanium x3 from IRG don’t have it yet but should look decent and it’s fairly light.
