Just pick up couple boxes just for giggle for my rifled barrel 935.

Anybody has experience with these and what kind of damage will it do on deers or big bears?

I am worry the round will break my own shoulder before it break the game's shoulder lol because firing a 600gr slug at 1890 ft / second is no fun.

50bmg is around 12,000ftlbs. Makes a nice hole on game

Your 50bmg weighs 30 pounds. That's 400 ftlbs per pound.

The ops shotgun is 7.5 pounds. That's 635 ftlbs per pound.

That's 60% more felt recoil than shooting the 50 off the shoulder, not to mention the difference in barrel length and the proximity of the muzzle blast to the shooters face. Those are some bad ass slugs. I think I'll pass on them until we end up in some sort of Jurassic park scenario. Yikes.

Edit. And the 585 Nyati would be in the neighborhood of 750 ftlbs per pound, for comparison. Something like a garand would be 280.

I have three slug gun an A bolt which is a tack driver, a Rossi single shot takedown for back up and easy storage and a Mossy 935 with 24" rifled barrel.

Been shooting my 300wm on a light rifle (T3 lite SS) and my Zkk602 in 375 ouch & ouch since the 90s so I am no recoil shy but firing a 600gr at 1900fps makes me hesitate to shoot off the bench especially on a 7.5# gun.

I may dress myself up with a sissy pad before shooting it lol.

To got juice,

What action was your 585 built on?

I always have a crave for big bore and I still have that issue of Guns& Ammo from the 90s when Ross Seyfried developed that round and built on a Brno action.
