Muzzle Loading

I know there is a separate tread for these questions but I don't think that I would get the responses I would get in this thread. I got a TC Omega 50 cal.. for Christmas. I am kinda new to the muzzle loading sport its self but I am a very avid hunter. I was just wondering what kind of load combination everybody is using and if they use a scope or open sights. As of right now I think that i am going to use 130 grains of powder and 250 grain shock wave slugs with open sights. Later on I will probably end up getting a scope but right now I will just stick with the illuminated open sights. If you guys and gals can voice your opinions that would be awesome.

I shoot Pyrodex Pellets in my Omega with 250-grain Shockwaves and have experienced great accuracy with both 100 and 150 grain loads. T7 hasn't worked as well for me but some people really love it. If you are sticking to open sites, your shots will likely be limited to 150 yards or less so there's not much need to go over 100 grains of powder. If you put a scope on it and want to shoot longer ranges, then look at the larger loads.
