Regarding the M14S-

Anyone know the flash supressor thread details so I can put a brake or compensator on the front for service rifle comp?

Also, is the Norc different, say....metric, or anything?

Yes, if necessary I'll just measure the darn thing. I just don't want to have to desolder and then wait for weeks to get a new one mounted up.

Unless you change over to a DC Vortex, which doesn't use a castle nut...... thread pitch matters....the M14S (M305) is metric and the DC is SAE thread pitch. They are close enough that I have heard of many people just using a little oil and cross threading it.

If you are going to use any other type of GI type hider or compensator.......just re-use the Chi-com castle nut.
You're biggest issue is just getting the old one off.....as they are welded with two small welds.

To make a long story short......tooooooo late.
Thread pitch isn't an issue in this case.

PS........I'm back.....but not for long!!!!

My gunsmith has brakes that fit AR's and wondered if the hider on the Norc would be the same so it would be a straight swap.

Question #2 So if I change barrels, this problem might come up again, correct? Therefore, get a barrel and compensator at the same time.....

Hmm.
