Update from the MLAIC World Championships - the Canadian Team overall did well, with one gold, two silvers and one bronze in the handgun events. We definitely need more shooters in all disciplines (rifle, handgun and trap).

Gold- percussion reproduction pistol side-lock shot at 25m
Silver and Bronze antique revolver shot at 50m
Silver aggregate score of the 25m and 50m revolver matches.

In total there was 26 countries and roughly 500 shooters.

I was hoping to get into it for pistol and rifle shooting. I was getting all the stuff together for some match pistols before the pistol ban. Maybe if things change eventually

There are lots of different rifle and musket events and you can shoot antique pistols and revolvers. My 2nd place finishes were with antique revolvers.

Do they have just a matchlock class... Not necessary a specifically Japanese match style.. IE an European , English Asian ect styles of matchlock muskets???

Yes, there are matchlock pistol and musket events (standing and kneeling). Asian styles compete against European. I believe the Japanese styles are popular as the calibres are often smaller.

People compete with antiques and reproductions

Congratulations on your Double Silver Podium. Outstanding and thanks for the photos and the post. Very interesting

Thank you.

I’d love for us to find a few more shooters so we can compete against other countries in the Team events (3 shooters) and not only the individual events.

Brian.
