Took this guy on Mon. after following him for half a day through some of the steepest coolies Ive ever hunted. He was the biggest deer I saw that day and was paired with another buck that was pefectly typical (near same size)but Im after old bucks w/ character. The body on this guy is absolutley massive, biggest bodied mulie Ive ever shot.
Shot the deer at around 125 yards, first hit was a double lung and second hit was a spine shot that dropped him in his tracks.
I was hunting in Zone 14 west across from Lemsford Ferry in the South Sask river valley. This stuff is so steep and rugged no trucks or quads are ever seen and this guy had to be quartered and packed out for 5 miles. You would never think Saskatchewan has such areas.

Here's one of my pheasants I bagged the week prior on my first annual pheasant hunt. I bagged my limit in one field near Estavan Sk. and saw around 75 pheasant and maybe 20-25 grouse and huns. Can't wait till next year when I have my German Shorthair Pointer to help me out
Pheasant Population in Saskatchewan is incredible this year and sure hope it stays this way for a while.
