My 10 gun list

Putting together a list of 10 guns I want to get for all the common/popular calibers. The idea is to get one for at least each caliber category and frame design. Any thoughts?
I skipped the .45 LC as I don't like the old fashion loading gate and only want the swing-out cylinder.

CZ 75 SP-01 SHADOW - 9MM ?? . 40 S&W
SIG P226 Tacops - 9MM ?? .40 S&W
HK P30LS v .3 DA/SA - 9MM ?? .40 S&W
Walther P99AS - 9MM ?? .40 S&W

Smith & Wessen M&P40 - .40 S&W
Glock 22 - .40 S&W

Ruger SR1911 - .45 ACP
Smith & Wessen MP&45 - .45 ACP

Smith & Wessen 686 4.2" Canadian - .357MAG & .38 S&W Special +P
Smith & Wessen 629 4.2" Canadian - .44MAG & .44 Special
 
That is the idea! :)

I just thought to put the list out here to get some fresh ideas, different perspectives and in case I may miss some of the good ones.
You may have a feeling on my budget based on the guns on the list.
Just the more day-to-day and must-have guns I can practice all the calibers with.

That is a good point. I already have HK30 on the list(just thinking between 9 & 40S&W). Then for the .45 ACP, I already have one for SR1911. Then one more will be from other non-1911s, like MP45, HK45 or P227 etc. Tough call, they are all good, supposedly. However, if only to get one, which one? Going "nutz" for sure. :)

this is not my concern because it's true for factory load, but not much for reloading. 9mm is a little light on recoil. I like something with bigger bang(not as crazy as 460 or 500, YET).
and the guns on the list is to keep, not for resale. :)

HK 45 feels very much like a 1911, even more so with the HK 45c. If I could carry concealed in Canada I would pack the HK45C, as a range gun the full size is great. The C just a tad smaller.
 
You'll want a Ruger MkIII (with mods) and a Browning Buckmark to cover dedicated rim-fire platforms. The CZ Kadet conversion is well thought of for the CZ-75 platform, and there are conversion kits and dedicated .22's in the 1911 format.

If you want really high end rim-fire performance go with a Pardini SP.

The minimum caliber I play right now is 9mm. the recoil on .22 is non-existent, just doesn't feel like a gun to me. no offense to all the .22 players out there, just my personal preference. I did play some .22 rifles when I was in Junior High for small game hunting. It was fun, but definitely passed me now.

The best handgun in the world is the Glock 20, the issue firearm for Danish Special Forces for defense against Polar Bears in Greenland (with many recorded kills).

The 10mm auto is in between the .357MAG and the .44MAG in power but more importantly, in a Glock 20 barely feels much different than a .45ACP in a 1911 in terms of recoil. Although, 10mm auto commercial ammo is rare, there are a few custom reloaders who will make the ammo for you.

Anything in 10mm is great, my preference is a long slide 1911.
 
worth considering. but the ammo availability and heavy recoil I read got me thinking.. put on my list as TBD for now. Glock 20 it is. Thanks! :)

SIG P226 Tacops - 9MM ?? .40 S&W 1000's of rounds through my Enhanced Elite. Always fire always shoots straight a snap to clean on the rare occasions it needs it. No 1.
HK P30LS v .3 DA/SA - 9MM ?? .40 S&W Haven't tried this.
Walther P99AS - 9MM ?? .40 S&W Tried this shoots straight but way too much muzzle flip. Not a big fan.

Smith & Wessen M&P40 - .40 S&W Haven't tried.
Glock 22 - .40 S&W Not a big glock fan, don't like the grip angle but you can't argue value for money.

Ruger SR1911 - .45 ACP Have one happy with it value for money 1911 hard to beat, reasonably accurate looks good. Makes my top 10. Not a Wilson but it doesn't cost $4,000 either.

Smith & Wessen 686 4.2" Canadian - .357MAG & .38 S&W Special +P Personally I have a pair of Rugers but a 6" barrel 686 is on my wish list.

Also on my wish list in 6" barrel.

Overall I think your list is pretty good.
