Shot tonight, 30 Oct 09, at 5:50pm east of Carberry, Mb with her 50 cal muzzle loader at 62 meters (ranged with range finder prior to shot). Nice symmetrical 4x4 (good eats too!!!). Another bang-flop shot too…..one shot and he dropped right where he was standing...this little lady sure makes me proud!

Congratulations! Excellent experience; one shot; close range.

I have to ask what muzzleloader that is; I have a lad that will be old enough next year.....

YKD

It is a CVA Wolf. I had to raise the comb for her with foam. She shoots a 300 gr Hornandy Sabotted SST over one 777 pellet (50gr). At 62M, this particular bullet entered front RH shoulder (deer was facing her oblique) and travelled all the way to the other end of the deer, stopping in the anal cavity and not ruining one bit of meat! Tons of stopping power with manageable recoil for a 11 Y/O (she was 11 when she started firing this rifle, taking her first deer with it last year at 12 years old, a nice 3x3 buck).

Excellent job...:D

Now Dad, wanna "take one for the team"?

...don't shoot one bigger than hers...she will always remember the year she shot the biggest buck. ;)

Guns- Did you and your daughter stake out the deer under the giant king potato sign south of the hwy? :) I would like to say I miss Shilo but I would only be lying...

The only thing I hated about Shilo was the winters, it was too cold for my liking. Everything else was great - the people/base/hunting. Congrats on the deer, it's good to see more younger people into hunting.
