My 13 year old gets her first deer

That is awesome!!!!!

Super-congrats to the young lady (and to dad, but I'm guessing the feeling of happiness you have right now is sufficient). I can't wait to get my girl out for her first deer next year.

Cheers, and again...AWESOME!

Thank you guys it was an absolutely terrific day . I got a doe about 90 seconds after her shot so we had quite a bit of processing to do when we got home but the whole family was in on it and it went very smooth . Sharing with you guys just makes me that much more happier and proud . For a long time I've watched and seen pictures of you guys showing off hunts with your kids and now I am there as well . Seldom have I ever had in life a better feeling with regards to doing things with my kids.
The rifle is a CZ527 and it is not the youth model . I love this rifle so much that I am going to pick one up for myself . She has been shooting it for the last several months so we are quite comfortable with what it is capable of doing . I agree she was perhaps stretching the distance just a little bit at 150 yards but she knew where it would impact and she was dead on . Superlight weight, detachable mag. It was a great choice for a rifle for her for now .
I believe it was brobee Who had posted several pictures and YouTube videos of him and his daughter using the 527 and I think she was younger than my girl and that's what got me looking at it .
Thank you guys so much for the kind words . And good luck to all of you!

Great pics congrats it brings me back to when I was a little kid and and loved the oudoors. I did not shoot my first deer until my twenties only small game in my teens.

Must admit that cz has my interest especially your review of it being light and easy to handle. I think it only comes in two calibers. Looks cool as well.

Awesome! Hope to have the same experiences with my daughters. Has got to be one of the best experiences in my books!

Regards
Ronr

Good for her ........the cz527 in 7.62x39 works fine out to 200 yards as my hunting partner's daughter shot her two deer this year with the same gun..........Harold

Excellent job! Fun times. We just finished processing all the deer we had hanging. Our daughter totally enjoys deboning and cutting meat, especially when she shot one of the deer. We made up 30 lbs of sausage as well. The whole process from the initial shooting to the closing of the lid on the freezer can be an awesome experience. Thanks for sharing.

Great job to her and you for taking her. I used to go with my dad as a kid but was never taught to hunt till I was old. LOL my husband taught me 6 years ago and I bagged my first buck this year.

Hello all,
Thank you so much for the positive comments for my girl. It's so hard to beat the high she felt, and the support she has gotten here is overwhelming. For me, more than the shooting, was the responsibility and understanding she showed toward conservation. I told her what my dad told me, that once you have taken from nature, your job is now and always to help preserve what we have.
She has spent a lot of time with this particular rifle, and I would hate to change it up so soon, but may look for a .243 in the next couple years. Would be interested to hear what fellow hunters have done. Thanks again so much!

That's awesome Joe! Congrats! I hope you two share many more hunts together. I love spending time hunting with my kids. Good life lessons to be learned while hunting.

I started my daughter on a Ruger Compact in 7.62x39 but once she was more experienced and had grown some we purchased a Vanguard Girls Hunt2 for her in 7mm-08. She still uses the Ruger but the extra punch from the 7mm-08 makes it her elk rifle. My boy turns 12 this winter and will be coming out for spring bear using a custom 6.5x55 I am building for him. I'll load it light with premium 100gr or 120gr bullets for now.

Thanks my friend for the kind words! Sounds like I have some research to do! I appreciate this information, thanks for sharing your experiences!
