My 14 pistol roundup review comparison...Anyone interested in seeing the results?

Far as I'm concerned, the only safety one needs is "finger out of the trigger guard at ALL times until ready to shoot.

Funny enough, that's my theory too. I took a friend to the range once, she put the safety on after firing. When it was my turn it took me a minute to figure out what the malfunction was lol

Thanks for adding the slot, hopefully someone else will benefit from that info

Hey Gang,
Well we just finished the biggest portion of the review on 9 of the hammer fired handguns just today and the reports are done. I'm now inputting the data that we wrote down and entering it into an excel sheet....the boring part :(. We will be doing the next half of the review with the striker fired guns (Glock 41, 17, the S&W M&P 9, the 2 Walthers PPQ and P99), Sept 7 and 8. Not sure if I mentioned it earlier but we will also be adding 1 more hammer fired gun to the lineup. The Norinco M 1911 A1 45 acp. My buddy's ATT didn't come in time from the gun shop to allow him to bring it along, so we will be reviewing it on range day part 2.

Like I said earlier, I think you will be really surprised with the results of one gun that surprised the hell outta me. But I'm gonna save it for when the whole review is finished. But trust me, you'll wanna see this.

In case anyone missed the beginning of this when I first started this thread, I mentioned what the backgrounds of both myself and my friend are coming from. And frankly it couldn't be more fair and unbiased.
Myself I guess I can call new to the shooting sport, 1 year and counting, and now own 3 handguns (Sig P226 Elite 9, a Sig 1911R Nitron 45 acp, and a nice shooting Ruger mkii 22 cal). Someone scoffed at me earlier saying I was just bragging and that I should throw more lead downrange and I had no right to "Review" a firearm....well, I disagree. Why? Because my view will be coming from what a "noob" is looking for in a gun, from what I've read, seen, tested and tried thus far...YES we have views and opinions too ! While my friend is on the other end of the scale. He has many years experience with, and owns both rifles AND handguns. He has a military background and knows his sh!te. So if there are any hardcores that decide they don't want to listen to a noob? Read his review...And for any new people to the sport that want another persons view like theirs, read mine. If there are anyone else who are on the fence and just want a fresh perspective, read both. So there's something for everyone here gang.

Believe me when I say that my friend and I put alot of time and effort to plan this, and already threw a lot of FMJ's downrange in Part 1, and at least 5 hours of our time doing the data entry. And we STILL have Part II coming up Sept 7 and 8th. Do yourself a favor, subscribe to this thread to stay up to date for when this report is done, as I will be creating a new post for this report complete with pics. Then read this report. I don't want money, I don't want fame or fortune from this. All I want is what I've gotten already from many of the members that have shown support already, many of whom are veterans from the post count I've noticed on their tags, just to say thanks and appreciation...that's it.

ok, enough talk....gotta get back to the data stuff now....night gents
Mike

Hey Guys,
Well the fun is over (shooting of course), now it's time for the data stuff. Just got back from my friends place in Toronto. Never fired at an indoor range before. Much louder inside so we had to wear ear plugs in addition to our over-ear defenders.

Anyway, I'll be entering the data from Range Day pt2 (lots of stuff to log), and hope to have it done by later in the day tomorrow. As I said, I'll be starting a new thread for this complete with target pics to show groupings and comparisons for the visual types. Keep checking in to this thread or watch for the new one coming in a day or 2.

Sorry for the delay guys, but there are just some data stuff, target comparisons etc to enter....bit more formatting to do. Will have it by like Saturday or Sunday. I know there are lots of people anxious to see/read this. Working hard to get this done. old Chinese proverb..."The Ox is slow.....but the earth is patient";)

:sniper: It was fun shooting with you Mike!

Samo Samo brother. And I don't use that term lightly. So sorry for being late for getting the data and pics uploaded gang, its been a busy week for me.

But as I mentioned earlier, my best friend and fellow "shooter" Dan, aka jtf2dan and I have completed our pistol review and I have all the data. Someone said earlier in this thread that he doubted I had an idea for how much work it will take to do this....well, he was right. BUT I have almost completed the data portion and WE WILL get it uploaded for your reading pleasure, and will have it done ASAP.
Thanks to all you guys for your support on this...I won't let you down.

Hey Guys, data is done. I'm now deciding how to upload the data sheets. They are in an excel template. So I have 2 ideas 1. scan and convert to pdf and upload, 2. take a pic of the paper printout, then put it up at photobucket. ....please anyone comment or suggest as I haven't done this before. I've uploaded pics to a forum before, just not this type of media. Whats the best way?
thanks

I give you credit for taking something like this on. Going the extra mile ads value to this site, especially for those a little it newer to the sport.

Ok guys, everything is complete. I had everything good to go and was uploading it to the CGN site....The text is done, the images are scanned, the formatting is done. But as I was uploading everything to the server, it said something about the info is too large :( I suspect it's the images are too large. I now have to reformat the images and try again. . . . not gonna happen tonite, sorry gang
