This arrived in the mail Tuesday. It started life as a, flintlock, 1763 Dragoon Musket. I believe some time in the 1820s it was converted to percussion cap. In the 1840s it had a second conversion to a rifled barrel. It most likely ended up in the U.S. during the Civil War. I was disappointed to find that the stock had been broken, or badly cracked, at the wrist. Once you know it is there you can see it in the photos. The break was hidden under a coat of brown wax. I bought it "as is" The seller said he didn't notice it and he didn't hump it. Caveat Emptor right? Beyond the repair it is a lovely musket and looks much better in person. It will be a shooter.
