So, I purchased the task force edition para SF 45-A pistol while i was overseas because on paper it was an outrageous deal. I took it out to the range for the first time not too long ago and had nothing but problems. Something was wrong with the feed ramp because rounds would not chamber after the action cycled, the sight were shooting crazy low, mags are crap etc.

I took it back to the distributor and they sent it in for repairs but said they may not be able to fix it due to "para" being moved as a company and problems with their warranty. So now it is possibly that i may receive a refund.

My question is, what tactical 1911 style pistol is the best under a $950 price tag???? I am only interested in 45 acp 1911's, preferably double stacked.

Thanks in advance

Get your money back... Buy a Glock or a SIG 1911 target

I feel your pain, It took over a years to get my issue resolved with para....

Worthless junk....

Just list it on the EE for $1500, it's a limited edition so you will have no trouble selling it even with the problems.

There been some guy on here who must hold the worlds record for BTT's for trying to sell a stainless Para for like 2 years. I think I saw it get up to 24 BTT's, then he took it down, re-listed it again and its past 14 BTTs last time I saw it.

No way, that thing is still up for sale? was it the para ltc? I laugh everytime I see that ad..

Anyway, as others have suggested, anything is better then Para.. Heck I would pick a Norinco over a para.

If you want to stay within that price range, I would suggest looking at a Sig Sauer 1911. Very nice handgun and very reliable. I would say if you are looking for absolute reliability, I would suggest something other then a 1911, such as the obvious glock, HK or FNP.

I'll take a look into the Sig, thanks. Any other suggestions?? I'm already getting a glock so i am asking for advice on 1911's $950 and under. thanks again

If a 1911 fails but it is a para, please make the title of the thread "para 1911 failed". No need to disparage the masterpiece that is the 1911 by associating it with para's abominations.

You're kidding right? Limited edition, or even one offs that don't work, aren't worth sh*t.

Of course I am kidding, I didn't think anyone here would take that post seriously. I guess I was wrong. I am surprised as you that never happens.

AHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! I love those guy's. Thats better than the guy's selling used Norcs for full retail.
