My 1st, and only, Safe Queen

In contrast to what I've said previously, I bowed to temptation and acquired my 1st and only Safe Queen. I've purchased a S&W model 29, Elmer Keith Commemorative.







It arrived this morning, quite the Friday the 13th.

No, 4", both. Elmers choice of length for a packing sidearm. The photos of the commemorative are those taken by the seller. I'll ensure a Moose is present when I finish 'playing' with it and take my photos.

Thanks guy. I couldn't really say if the red insert was a choice of his or not but I 'believe' it was an inovation of S&W. It 'may' have been the result of input from Keith or other knowledgeable individuals. Couldn't really say off hand but obviously I'll have to re-read the chapter on Sixgun sights in his book Sixguns. In his book there are a number of variations he talks about.



With the exception of primarily 'paper punching', my 'ideal' would be something along the lines of a combination of what he has pictured as a ramp and his long range sight with the gold bars. The top and 3rd down on the left above.
