So, after much patience on my part waiting on CFO-stamped test results, reference interviews, and the rest - my rpal was finally approved. How did I celebrate?

By ordering a Sig Elite Dark in 9mm from Questar!

The folks at Questar an absolute pleasure to deal with, so now I just need to wait for the transfer to be completed and the postman to deliver the goods. The way I look at it, the 9mm was the middle ground between the 1911 in .45 I really wanted, and the .22lr that I can afford to feed.

And before anyone else states the obvious:

so I'll try my best to post 'em up once it arrives!

Good choice. I have a Sig P226 Elite Dark in .40 S&W and it is by far the nicest 226 I have handle or shot, next to an X5. You'll love it!

Same number, but I need a new picture, added 2 more since the pic was taken. I find that the SIG pistols fit my hand and shooting style perfectly, hence the large number of them. Also they seem to hold their value quite well. More fun than a bank account.

LOL..I agree with the statement from npbra. Compare to other brands, SIG does tend to hold its value better than others. I too have a few SIGs and with continue to purchase SIGs

well its here! I'm very impressed, can't wait to get it out to the range.

One question for the experienced Sig owners: Is it normal for new Sigs to have marks on the outside of the barrel? No dents or gouges - just areas where the blueing has already come off. Almost like "smileys" a 1/4" from the muzzel. I assume (yes a dangerous thing to do) that Sigs are test-fired before leaving the factory?
