Went out Remembrance day morning after working nightshift and found lots of whitetails and muleys but nothing I was looking for. On a buddy's advice I checked out another field and found this buck. I could see 5 points on one side but only 4 on the other so I decided to pass. As I was leaving, he turned his head and I saw point #5 on the other side. Standing in the oats at 100yards he was facing head on so I aimed just above the crop and put a 140gr Accubond from my M70 .270 Win. into the base of his neck. Bang/flop. My camera batteries died so no field pic's :(

Steyr101, the cape is fine. Just a little .277 caliber hole that you can see in the picture (the blood is just from laying in the back of the truck) My taxidermist will be able to make his mortgage payments again as this buck will be getting mounted along with my elk...KF

You were gonna pass on that buck!!! Are you insane... Here in N.B. that is TRUELY a monster and RARELY do you get lucky enough to even seen one like that!!!

Holy cow... Sometimes I am glad I am a meat hunter... I don't know if I could "pass up" deer cause they had 4 on one side and 5 on the other...

Cheers
Jay
P.S. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Awesome deer. Nice and heavy from bases to tips. Should score very well. Great job.

There would have been no hesitating from me on whether to shoot or not. Even @ 100 yds, I'm sure you had to see the mass he had.
