Here is my 2011 moose taken at the Réserve faunique du Saint-Maurice in Quebec on sept 18. He was in a clear cut with a cow in the morning. I took the shot at 183 yards with my Ruger .338 Win Mag. The load was a 250 grains Sierra Game King over 67 grains of IMR 4831 for 2630 fps. The bullet entered in front of the right shoulder, shattered the spine en finished behind the left shoulder. I saw him disapear in the scope!

Good job! Did you call him in? We leave on Oct.1st on our moose hunt, can't hardly wait!

No, I first saw the cow, then saw the bull, then made a quick rangefinder job, took a rest and just wait for him to give me a good shot angle, the rifle went boom and I saw him disapear in the scope in a fraction of a second!

Well done sir !! Nice to hear it took only the one shot to get it done.
I had to cancel my Moose hunt this year :(
Can I ask what the sticker on your rifle is about ?

It's my ballistic reminder with trajectories at 100-200-300-350-400-450-500 yards for that particular load. I would probably not take a shot at or over 500Y but I'm 100% confident at around 400Y with a good rest since I practice at these distance on a steel plate during the winter.

Very nice!! We head out on Saturday in the Zec Iberville located in Longue-Rive, Quebec. If the bulls are hanging with the cows, that means the action has begun. Great news!!

Congrats guy:D. Nice animal. I've used a similar info reminder and in using a number of different calibers, I've found that quick info access to be very helpful, especially in the heat of the moment. I'm still looking for a good clear water proof tape to cover it with. Again:), congrats and I'm sure it'll be very tasty and thanks for sharing.

Very nice. I didn't know the rifle season opened so early in the belle province.

We are heading up that way for Oct 8 opener.

Nice bull...I shot a 47 1/2" rack last year in that same Reverve St-Maurice.
