Got my Mulie today after a bit of a foot pursuit through the hills, he got a length of space on me and disappeared over a hill, I made my way to the top and managed to spot him, he thought he would be safe at 330yards in some very light brush, he was mistaken, I managed to line up a double lung hit and he went over a hill after a hit, made it about 5 steps, but I lost sight of him and thought he made it a lot farther then he did and spent a little time looking for him only to find him where I left him.

Used my 7-08 700mountain, with a VX2 ultra-light 3-9x33. 145gr Barnes LRX at 2710fps did its job perfectly, lungs literally poured out after a pass through.

Obviously he hadn't heard he was travelling in Remington Country !
Great buck and good story.
Those factory loads or roll your own?
Thanks for sharing,
Rob
They are rolled. I used resized Rem 308 brass, match prepped with 41.7gr Varget, FGMM primer and a 145 Barnes LRX at 2.766" proves very nice with this one. Hovering at .75-1 MOA in a 7.5lb setup loaded like in the pics with no recoil means no comprimises. I love this set up. Only thing I may change is to get a custom set of turrets in a moa scale for some more reliable long coyote shots.

Not a deer hunter but have seen many mule deer ( from the cab of a locomotive). That is a beautiful rack. My experience is from the HWY 16 corridor of BC. Do the mule deer racks score better on average on the prairies?
