Went to the range today with some reloads and factory ammo for my .204. Had loaded 28.5gr, 29.5gr, 30.5gr of BL-C(2) with 32gr V-max, as well as factory 32 gr V-max, The 28.5 seems to be the one for my rifle, second factory, third 30.5gr, and fourth 29.5. I was actually a little surprised by the groups with 29.5, they were terrible at about 1.5", 30.5 in at about 1.25" The factory stuff is fairly consistent at just under an inch, but was pleased with the 28.5 at .665", pretty good for my shooting abilities. All at 100yds. Now that I got this all worked out just have to get my butt out and get some coyotes.

Interesting choice of powder? None of my manuals list data for this powder. You may want to try you testing in .5 gr increments the next time you test, if there will be an next time. You have a nice tight group there at 100 yards, you may want to see how this group handles 200 yards on paper. What kind of rifle is shooting this load? FS

I pulled the info right off the Hodgdon website, great online reloading manual. I don't have a chrony but should be around 3772 fps as listed. I will likely do some more refined testing when it warms up, just wanted to get together a decent coyote load for now. I am shooting it out of a Rem 700 SPS Varmint with 26" heavy barrel, bedded action, Fajen lam. stock, Bush 4200 4-16x40. Rifle is heavy, around 11.5-12 lbs with bipod.

Nice rig! I've always wanted a .204 or .223 for a varmint rig. I like the Savage Predator, all camo with a camo scope. Nice shooting!
