My 22 shoots 1/2" groups at 50 yards/meters all day! Really? Prove it!

I had a go at groupings today with my mark II fvsr. Best I could do was 1" group at about 50 yards. Not bad for the first time with this gun and first time trying to group the shots. Shooting off a backpack

Alright this is at 35.

The bold squares are 1". The dotted squares are 1/2". I think I can get 1/2" at 50 next time.

Took one of my NS522 to the range for plinking instead of grouping, surprised to get one tightest group for my 22lr grouping.
50 yards, 5-shot for each group.

Finally was a lot of ammo trying to get here, got some advise at the range today which helped

Tried this again today with a different rifle. Stiller 2500X, Benchmark barrel, Leupold scope 45X. Lapua Center X. Temp was 27C and shifting winds, had to wait for lulls.
Group #1 - .444" - .220" = .224"
Group #6 - .383" - .220" = .163"
Group #7 - .393" - .220" = .173"
Group #8 - .379" - .220" = .159"
Group #9 - .375" - .220" = .155"
5 group average .175"

Nice shooting. You almost beat the smallest average. I added you to the ever growing list.

I hope I measured these correctly. The distance shot was 58 yards from muzzle to target.

L to R
0.567 - 0.22 = 0.347
0.679 - 0.22 = 0.459
0.613 - 0.22 = 0.393
0.633 - 0.22 = 0.413
0.610 - 0.22 = 0.390

Average group size = 0.400

Ammunition: SK Standard Plus

Rifle: Anschutz 1710 HB

Scope: Sightron 10-50x60

I shot this target this morning. I didn't begin by attempting to meet the challenge. I was testing ammo from a lot that I recently got and was shooting at a photocopy paper target. After the first three (L to R) looked promising through the scope, I realized that this target might be decent. The fourth bull's group is to the left because I began with a flyer to the left so I aimed at it.

Question...is that a folded inner tube you have under the forend? What's the purpose of it?

Thanks,
Cal.

That's a piece of leather. It gives a bit more stability than the existing front rest. I've got a new Protektor front bag but I've got to figure out how to fill it as there is not much room to get the sand in. I think I'll make a funnel out of some thin metal.
