My 22 shoots 1/2" groups at 50 yards/meters all day! Really? Prove it!

Nice going, Major.
I like the CZ452 Varmint. I had one, but sold it. Might have to get a replacement. Lol. I tried Lapua SK Mag in it and it shot well; took a couple club sporter class shoots w it.

Thanks. They're nice rifles; great value:$$$ ratio in my opinion. I consider this gun a hunting rifle more than primarily for bench use for my purposes, but it would be interesting to see what it could do with high end target ammo and a more powerful scope. I might buy a box of 10-X or something once just out of curiousity, but will never spend that kind of dough regularly on ammo. What really matters to me is how it shoots high performace HP stuff. It seems to handle the CCI mini-mag HPs quite well.

Fun challenge all the same. As a side note, when I went out to pin up my target, I noticed someone had stood up a .308 casing on the top of the back stop just above my target. After I finished up with the groups, having become fairly confident with that ammo, I took a shot at the case. One shot, one kill :)

Nice shooting Major! Another accurate CZ452! I too believe that 452s are great value although they no longer cost $500 like they used to.

Which is more accurate a 452 sillouette/American or a varmint?

Just bought a Savage mark 2 hb short barrel. Out of Box 1/2 @ 50! Can't wait to get this challenge!

On the paper, all 3 CZs should be the same accuracy. I have a walnut stocked American and a Silhouette. Both guns are sub moa at 50 but the Silhouette consistently out shoots the American by a wide margins. I think it is just a luck of the draw rather than something you could expect.

Just squeaked in. I wasn't really intending to shoot the challenge yesterday, but had shot a couple sequential groups that were looking pretty good, so thought I would go for it :)

Was shooting my CZ452 Varmint and ELEY/Remington Target, which seem to group fairly well in my gun. Scope is a Leupold Vari-X III 2.5-8 X 36. Rings are CZ. Bipod and rear bag are nothing fancy. No mods to the rifle at all. I noticed after I wrote the numbers on the target that my math was off by .002" for the first group; corrected here.
Group sizes at 50 yards were:
.688 - .22 = .468
.612 - .22 = .392
.594 - .22 = .374
.714 - .22 = .494
.670 - .22 = .450

Avg = .436"

Nice shooting. I added you to the successful list

Hey kody what ammo were you using I just bought sk match. I was using win wildcat and getting pretty good groups. .75" @ 50

SK Rifle Match or SK Std Plus. When the outside temperature gets below about 12 deg C, this ammo starts loosing accuracy so I keep it warm in a small cooler using microwaved glycol packs.

This is my favourite CZ. It's a 452 American in a walnut Boyds Pro Varmint stock.

The target was shot from left to right.

0.627 - 0.22 = 0.427
0.583 - 0.22 = 0.363
0.617 - 0.22 = 0.397
0.640 - 0.22 = 0.420
0.629 - 0.22 = 0.409
Average: 0.403

The stock is for a 452 Varmint, modified for the American action screw configuration. Boyds now makes one for the American action screw and sporter barrel configuration, but it became available last year shortly after I ordered my stock. The scope is a Mueller 8-32, and I find it to be a good value.

Good shooting Rod B. There aren't a lot of 10/22 platform successful attempts. I added you to the successful list.

My Anschutz yesterday. I dunno pic your best one. One was Eley Team 5 shot average 0.311. The SK Match was 5 shot average 0.366. Total 10 shot avg .339.

Shot in normal conditions for me, 15KM/h gusting winds. It's my training rifle so you can't always wait for that perfect day. Got it done though.
