My 22 shoots 1/2" groups at 50 yards/meters all day! Really? Prove it!

Nicely done!

Edit to add a question: Did you get that Lapua Master M, which is no longer in production, from TSP?

Thank you. No I bought a lot of different higher end ammo from a member on the EE quite a while back. It was a mixed bag of Eley and Lapua. The master m was sealed in plastic with two boxes per pack. Seems to be a decent lot. I tried some RWS R50 that shoots extremely well out of my Vudoo,(not mine anylonger as I gifted it to a friend). On another note, I’ve acquired a Stiller 2500XR which I’m hoping will prove to be an accurate replacement for the Vudoo.

Picked up a new to me rifle Feb 10 and gave it the maiden run on Sunday Feb 12 Nice sunny day 6C with wind from the south west at 3-10 kmh.

After a few failed attempts ... finally got 1 to work, temperature about 2C and slight breeze from about 2 o'clock. The largest group was the first group from a cold barrel, after that they tightened up nicely.

Vudoo V22 in a KRG Bravo chassis off a Harris bipod. Ammo is SK Long Range Match.
Group sizes: .456, .271, .192, .353 and .174 Average size .289

Top right target is actually 0.182" which lowers the average 0.2872". Great shooting

It is great shooting. It's worth keeping in mind, however, that, depending on how data is inputted, ballistics apps may not give the best answer.

While the following is not intended as an opinion one way or another, before saying these good results are even better, interested readers should take a close look at the two farthest apart holes (including the grey smudge marks) in the top right group. Decide if possible which two are furthest apart. These bullet holes may give some indication as to the size of the group. If those two holes were the only ones in the group, decide the following: would they be overlapping, just touching, or apart and not touching each other?

Allowing for .22" as the deduction from the outside size, when two holes are just touching the center-to-center size of two touching holes must be .22". When they overlap, they must be less. When they are not touching or overlapping, they must be more.

Below, the target in question on the left. On the right, an image showing two holes that are just touching and are .22" ctc.

I was only commenting on the mathematical error. Many entries in Nutz are fabrications of the posters own mind. Great example is number 17 on the 100 yard challenge. JQIAN. WOW. Apparently one bullet has no smudge ring(covered by the calipre) and the other is covering the bullet by quite a margin. Must just be the angle HAHA

Very unofficial entry here. Just did this for fun at the end of a cold day before packing it in. One flyer away from passing.... Grrr

I'll try again once weather is +ve and lacks the 25kmhr winds.

I haven't posted targets in this thread for a while as until recently I haven't had any new rifles. Recently, however, I got a rifle with a barrel that I hope should be more responsive to tuners than the two long, heavy barreled Anschutz rifles I've been using for the last couple of years.

The tuner results remain inconclusive. Perhaps the ammo I've been using isn't consistent enough. Nevertheless, having been shooting almost exclusively at 100 yards since mid-2021, it's been a nice change to shoot at 50 yards (actually 57 yards, which is my club range's version of 50).

The following ten consecutive groups were shot today at 57 yards with an intermediate grade of ammo, RWS Special Match.

The top row: .240, .392, .308, .247, .186" (avg. .275")

Bottom row: .438, .302, .303, .307, .394" (avg. .349")

The ten-group average is 0.312".

Distance: 57 yards.

The largest group is shown below.

The rifle is an Anschutz 1907. Currently it sits in a modified "free recoil" style Anschutz BR stock. For an inexplicable reason, a previous owner had an adjustable cheek made on it. It's unnecessary presence doesn't change the way I use the stock. The scope is a Sightron SIIB 36X.

As noted, the proper tuner setting remains unconfirmed.
