My .260 build needs some food :D

Thanks Jerry! Any pet loads you'd like to share? Please pm if they have to be kept top secret from your competitors:D

No secrets. Just use Hodgdon printed data and work towards the 2800fps node in an 8 twist barrel using any of the 139-142 bullets. alittle under, alittle over that speed is where all of these bullets sing their best.

CCI BR2 or Fed 210M primers. If using Lapua brass, be careful of the lower case volume vs Rem or necked down Win.

It will be very obvious when you hit the node.

Here's the pic as promised. 43.5gr H4350 142 SMK's @ 2830 FPS

Hi Dude,

Nice groupings! What is your barrel length and what kind of performance are you getting out to 1000? Actually, I'll put that question out to everyone if you don't mind :) What kind of groupings are you getting at 1000m and beyond?

To be honest, i haven't run that load out to 1000m yet. That's a project for this summer. I ran the 140smk over 41.3 N550 for SHC 2013. Was nailing steel without too much difficulty to 1360yds. But that load doesn't group like the 139 scenarios. Here is the group i have for 690m

Rifle is a PGW coyote in .260 with 24" barrel.

From what I've heard with the .260 ai chambering 46.5 gr of h4831 with 139 scenars and lapua pre formed cases are around 2775 fps and are crazy accurate. I'm waiting for a .260ai chambered rifle right now from ns barrels and I'm going to be working up to that load from around 45 gr of the h4831. In Terry Cross' article about his .260ai he used pre formed cases with 48.5gr of h4831 with the 139 scenar and hit a node around 2950 with great accuracy way out past 1000. Now that would be a compressed load!!

Sounds interesting for sure! I've been doing some reading on the AI chambering. Let us know how things work out!
