well as some of you might have noticed I have been asking lots and lots of silly stuff about Barrels, twists bullets and loads for the 260rem, Then Hungry and I start a PMfest in Rockstar style (He says his rifle built by Sean is a farking laser give him a call)

So I send off a few PM's about rifles to get done at Northshorebarrels he gives me a price and I say ok done deal handshake leave my guns with him after last weekends shoot

specs I wanted

gun one
Rem 700p LTR in 308 it gets a 22" #7 1/8 barrel and trued up action

plan on using the 123Scenar loaded to AICS mag length

gun two
Savage 110fp long action

I was going to go 6.5/284 but I stayed 260 with the goal of loading the 139 Scenar or the 140VLD long,

so this gun gets same barrel but as long as he can finish

while going threw the forums I see his package deals he has going......
one PM later and I am in the TAC21 package. cant wait for the call to go get them!w:h:

I will be posting build pics and reviews on the guns and loads tested!

I have shot 308 and 300wm most of my life I am really looking forward to the 260

sweet! I will be waiting to see and hear how they shoot! I haven't barely got my build from Sean broke in and I am thinking about another LOL

Wow! Sounds like some very cool new toys headed your way soon! Keep us up to date on how they turn out, and yes Sean does great work, he has done two rifles for me so far and they both were excellent shooters. Both were 260s, he has that cal dialed up, next on my list will be something in either 7mm or 338, haven't made up my mind just yet, but maybe I will be like you and get both!

Congrats on taking the plunge.

I am still very new to this cartridge but I have a nice load developed and am going to start pushing the distance!

Good luck, i'm sure they'll shoot.

260 is a tremendous cartridge, do yourself a favor and scoop some Lapua 260 brass

look forward to reports, congrats on the new guns

/i hear you on the brass....might have to get a M-14 to use up my 500+ brass I have in house

I think you'll love the 260 Rem as well. The ballistics offered by the 6.5mm family of bullets are pretty freakin awesome and I have found it is pretty hard NOT to make them shoot. I have found that the ballistics between my 6.5x55 using 140gr bullets (140 AMAX and 139gr Scenars) and my 338LM are so close it is scary. Nice having the 6.5 to practice dialing in at various ranges affordably thus not to use up my much pricier 338 components unless I really want to hit something hard :). Haven't quite dialed my loads yet as the weather has been ridiculous here in AB so lead testing is at a stand-still but you really can't complain about the performance of a bullet as affordable as the AMAX IMO. I am waiting for my first rifle from Sean as well and cannot wait to break it in also! He has been super helpful and affordable so I will definitely be a repeat customer!

well I have been chatting with a fellow on Snipershide about the 123Scenar in a 22" barrel

he is running close too the same spec as I will be and is loving Superformance powder and is running over 3000fps with out signs of pressure http://www.hodgdon.com/rifle.html and its a ball powder too so it should meter great!

Awesome! Welcome to the 260 club. I ordered a barrel from Sean last year. I did the work putting it on and it shoots very well. Still wanting to shrink the groups another 1/4 moa but all in all, you can't complain about 1/2moa. I use Nosler brass simply because it was available at the time. I will be ordering Lapua brass in the future.
I have a 1:9 twist and find that there are no really noticeable shortcomings launching the 142gr matchkings, although I need to stretch its legs and fully test them out to 700-1000. The 123 lapuas have always interested me. Keep us updated on those bullets.

Jamie, Are you running an improved chamber or a standard 260 chamber throated long for your 110 project? I have had a very similar idea floating around in the back of my head.

yes its throated long standard chamber

Sean (juanvaldez) is one heckuva barrel pimp! :D I cannot wait until the snow melts and then I can start working up loads with my 139 gr Scenars (bought from Peter Dobson at Hirsch Precision).

Come on, warm weather!! :p
