Hey Guys, been shopping for a new moose gun and here are my 3 picks;can you help me decide?I cant buy all 3

Ruger Hawkeye-7mm Rem. mag

Winchester Featherweight- 270 wsm or 300 win

Browning Blr-270 wsm or 7mm. Rem. mag

Hard to pass on the Hawkeye with the included scope mounts. The BLR owners I know of complain of felt-recoil. They are pretty, though. I have heard hit and miss quality issues with the new Winchester.

1 -winch (.300 of those you offer, I would just take a .30-06 in the FWT)
2 - Ruger
3 - BLR

my $0.02...:)

I'd pick the Hawkeye, I handled a new Featherweight last weekend and Prefered the Sporter model instead, but it wasn't on your list. The BLR is a GREAT gun...if you have it in a short action, the throw on the long action is longer than a city block

I own a BLR in .308 they are fantastic guns. But I also like the winchesters and would eventually like to own one.

Of those choices, I would pick the Winchester in .300WM

+1

NAA.

of those you offer, my pick would be the Winchester FWT in 300 mag, but a better option would be the same rifle in 325 wsm. Heck of a moose gun! Just need to reload in order to afford to shoot it!

I handled a 325 WSM featherweight last week. Nice gun, but seemed much heavier than the other FWTs.

Also handled a ruger hawkeye .270. Helluva nice rifle. Fit me better than the winchester, though I like the looks of the winchester more.

I'm not a fan of recoil (I'm not a fan of .30 cal's, not a fan of magnums). Of those three I'd go Ruger. I have a Hawkeye and I had a M70 Lightweight. The M70 was in a 30.06 and the recoil was brutal. A M70 Featherweight pushing a .30 cal magnum has to hurt.....I wouldn't enjoy shooting it at all. The Hawkeye is a workhorse of a gun and is heavy, combined with being a 7mm it will be lots more recoil friendly. I've not used a BLR so no comment on that....other than I prefer a bolt over a lever.

Thanks guys not allot of Blr fans here.. I like the way it feels and the lever throw was ok.I made my choice and its the m70 sporter 300win.. Im 6-4 ,so recoil does not seem to bother me
