This is interesting. After having lots of feeding problems on and off with my Remington 597 HB, it has been sitting unused for some time. But with this new mag now available maybe I will give it another chance. :ar15:

UPS? :slap: Hope you have a good paying job because they are going to screw you big time for customs fees! :kickInTheNuts: Best way is to get it shipped USPS (regular mail) or get it shipped to a drop address across the line that you can easily go and pick up. UPS is pure evil going across the border! Unless maybe you are on crack!? :onCrack:

Arrived today. Holy crap that UPS brokerage charge is out of line! 2 mags at a cost of $63 incl shipping, and the brokerage fees were $29.55 plus GST :eek:

Well, at least the magazines are here. Hope to get out the range soon and see how these things work!
 
Most people get bit by UPS before they figure it out... USPS is the ONLY way to ship stuff to Canada from the US.

Regardless, let us know how they work for you!
 
UPS only ####ed me to the tune of $36.15.... I think I had requested USPS back in July when I ordered them... If you check the website now you will see that UPS is the only shipping method for these mags at the moment.

Mags look nice, fit nice and tight with no wobble. The mags can also be taken apart via the baseplate for cleaning. They look to be pretty intelligently designed and I am really hoping to get outside this weekend and give them a workout. The one mag I just loaded took 32 rounds... here are some pictures:

DAR 701 what distance are you shooting at with the sight set up as they are? mine came like that but I it was shooting low at 100yards...
 
Just got back from the range... the mags are garbage. The feed angle is way too low, I was out for an hour and managed to get 9 rounds off in a row without a FTF. Do not buy them unless you are prepared to do some filing and tweaking. I was just looking at them now and am not sure if I can get them to work at all, that feed angle is pretty bad.

IM_Lugger: With the sights set like that I am bang on at 50 meters and 3-4 inches low at 100 meters... you are gonna have to slide it to the next big mark up the ramp to be bang on at 100 meters. I mostly use this as a gopher rig so I rarely shoot past 50 meters with the irons. When the scope is mounted I have it set for 100 meters.

I have been filing the feed ramp on the mags a bit and can get one to mostly feed. I also had to open the rear of the mag where the bolt rides through a tad. I'll keep tweaking and try and hit the range Tuesday after work with some round nose ammo and see if I can get through a mag or not.

I was also really hoping these work out, esp. since they shipped UPS and the mags come out to about 50 bucks a pop when you factor their raping on brokerage fees... :(

I am hoping Butler Creek steps up and makes some mags... they should be better quality!

Looks like UPS does not like to move gun parts... besides their pillaging on brokerage (39% of TOTAL value) they hate gun stuff. All the more reason to never use them...

well du'h...30 round magazines they have to be illigal :rolleyes:

btw DAR maybe it's just the ammo you're using that gives you troube? have you tried different ammo? I mean they had all this time and they didn't get the feed angle right? Not that I don't believe you, just hope it's not true (I wanted) one)...:(

I tried round nose American Eagle 40 grain lead loads and Federal Bulk pack 36 grain truncated cone plated HP loads. Bullet design does not seem to matter when the bolt scoops them straight ahead into the front of the magazine because the feed angle gets really low after 9 rounds... would make a good 5-9 round mag though, anything 10 and over has a small chance of feeding. Yesterday I threw out about 10 rounds that fed straight up and got dented, I had double feeds and rounds go backwards in the area of the chamber. These mags are garbage... Save your money and wait a while. Check out the reviews on the manufactures website, that should tell you everything.

Maybe not, I just went to the website, as of yesterday there were 3 ####ty reviews, all three have been deleted and now there is just one ####ty review from today. Why have a spot for review if you are just going to delete it? I can safely say that I will never deal with Eagle Accessory again...
