I have read that Brasso should not be used as it has Ammonia in it - Supposedly will harden/degrade the brass.
I use Meguiar Swirl Remover in my shaker, run for 4 hours and presto!

i doubt it, ive got brass buttons that are now over 60 years old on my winter coat, and they have been polished with brasso for there whole life (i assume, except the time spent in storage) and they dont have any problems, even going between hot and cold all winter
